I remember when I first started yoga, I was nowhere NEAR being able to touch my toes in a foreword fold😅
I was basically sat upright with arms extended and knees bent
Looking around the studio at how much ‘better’ everyone was at yoga
{My false belief back then was that being flexible meant you were better at yoga}
So I was judging myself… hard
Being completely honest, I didn’t practise yoga regularly until I did my teacher training course
{Which was only a couple years ago}
And being there, my attitude, my perspective and my life shifted {pretty dramatically actually 😅}
I learnt that to practise YOGA is to practise calming the of fluctuations in your mind 🧘🏽♀️
I learnt to move with intention, with purpose, with the breath ✨
To practise acceptance, non-judgment and appreciation for my body, for all it gives me 💪🏽
That yoga is a tool to help us move beyond the constant internal chatter, to stillness 🌻
And guess what happened in that process of self-discovery?
By surrendering to the practise, showing up and releasing ALL expectations
⚡️I became more flexible
⚡️I became stronger
⚡️I had powerful insights that led to an entire shift in life and career path
That’s why the mindfulness, the philosophy, the breath, the surrendering, the listening to your body and observing the mental patterns are SUCH an important part of my classes
🧘🏽♀️ We always begin with a guided meditation, to tune inwards
✨ We chant mantra, a powerful tool to immediately clear your mind {if you allow it to, if you *surrender* to it}
🫁 We do breathwork, to positively influence our state of mind and quality of life
🌸 It’s why I share yogic philosophy, because it has the power to transform your LIFE
💦To top it all off, we break a sweat and challenge our bodies in the best way - getting strong, getting fit, getting flexible
As I type this post I can literally feel my body firing UP because I am so damn passionate about sharing all of this with you 🔥
